Buyer Beware ...
I had recently purchased "Adobe Photoshop CS4" from an online merchant (URL below):
http://specialsofts.com/
The following is an account of what transpired:
1. Made online purchase on vendor site
2. Made online payment via PayPal
3. Received payment confirmation from PayPal
4. Received order confirmation from vendor
5. Received tracking number for shipment (from China!)
6. Received package from
-- Shanghai Yi-ping Computer
-- gns Fabrication Co. Ltd
-- 2602-B-2 Changzhong Road
-- Shanghai, China
7. Successfully installed software and was surprised to observe
- Software was not what I ordered
- Software was not licensed, but a "trial version"
- Serial number printed on box was invalid (verified with ADOBE)
8. Contacted vendor at
-- "许国章" xuguozhang06@gmail.com
-- specialsofts@hotmail.com
9. Vendor sent several serial numbers (all invalid)
10. Contacted vendor for refund
11. Vendor made excuses, and offered to "partial refund"
12. Informed vendor it would be "all or nothing"
13. Contacted credit card issuer and got temporary refund
14. End result: lost US$ 146.00 (credit card issuer reversed temporary refund)
Do not buy from this vendor unless you are prepared to be left with some bogus software. As for my $146.00, I will consider it my contribution to bettering China's economy. It is actually a way of masking my own stupidity.
